Tli© High Commissioner reports: — LONDON, July 14, 1.55 p.m. Northwards of the Aisne, m the region southwards of Villeaubois, and on the plateau Vauclero, two German attempted attacks were immediately arrested by our machine-gun fire. Oh the right bank of the Meuse the artillery fighting has been very active ,on the sector Souvil'e and so/roe patrol engagements m Chemois Wood. LONDON, July 13, 11.40 p.m. The artillery on both sides was active to-day. As a result of sharp infantry fighting we not only maintained pressure on the enemy, but appreciably advanced our line at various points of the front. / On one sector we captured some German howitzers and a quantity of ammunition, which will be used against the enemy when suitable opportunity arises.
