Tlie annual report and balance sheet of the Bank of New Zealand for the period Turfing 31st. of .March shows profits of £557,093, Jess interest on guaranteed stock £21,292, leaving £335,800. From this ' £50,000 is allocated in- reduction of bank' premises, etc., leaving the balance of profit for the year at £285,800,- which,/ with v£s7;l7C from. -last year, totals £432,971. From this there has--' beeit- paid . dividends amounting to £104,297, leaving available r for distribution £238,674, ■ from 'jwhich dividends on' A shares amounting to £2000 is proposed to be • paid ;-. a dividend on ordinary and B preference shares, amounting* to' £74,908; 3 per cent, bonus on - ordinary ■■'■'and' ' B pre-ference-shares'-'£37,301^; It is.- 'also proposed to transfer to the reserve £50.000, making the reserve fimd l £2,062-141; and' carry forvferd £56,464 (shillings and pence ■are-' omitted).
