Mountfort, who referred especially to the manner m which the Empire was standing to the Old Country m the present grave crisis, and said he looked upon this < as the initial step when the colonies would be represented m tho Imperial Parliament. , Congratulations were -also showered upon Sir James by numerous speaker.*, including -Messrs J., B. Leydon, R. M. Birrell, A. Sawyer, G. E. Jones,. W. J. Hennessy, H. Miller, ,W. Webb, J. C. JiJisbett, J. Colley,' V: Riven, and T.
