ART UNION DRAWING.
The drawing of the art union for Mrs C. W. Howard's valuable bed cover was conducted at Miller's a.uction mart this afternoon by Mr G. K. Miller, m the presence of Acting-detective Moore, presr* representatives, and a number of subscribers. The proceeds of the art union will realise about £70, the expenses bavinp amounted to £10. Mr Miller intimated that the necessary conditions had all been' compiled with, and that subscribers wuold have a fair and spuare run. Tlie bed spread, he went on to say, constituted a most valuable heirloom, and the successful drawer would be exceedingly lucky to nossess such a ' splendid piece of work. The drawing was then proceeded with, Master Jack Mini* being invited to draw the lucky ticket from tho box, which turned out to be held by George Whitty, enre Poverty Bay Farmers' Weezinn- Works, Waipaoa. Mr Miller, m conclusion, expressed thanks on behalf of Mrs Howard for those attendingand all who had kindly assisted with the snip of tickets. The bedcover may be procured from the mart by the owner.
