It is, or should be, iiiciimb.ent on those who have children attending school to take some sort of interest m xbnli-blling the manageiuent or Welfare of tho cliildren W that- particular ditfti-ict iii Avhich they reside, yet at tlio householders' meeting held at Makaui-i not a single householder was present except members of thq old Committee, an<l naturally they want to know; how to take-it : is it a coijipliineht to that Committee or disinclination and utter disregard on the paift.-of the' parents who sit at home is, to how the school or its children air* looked after, and I may say there are many avlio are able m tho district to take a ../ihaj-p m its v control, but who, alas, if thiiigs don't, run as. they .should arq^ever ready;,. to,.; ln.\vl; complaints and suggestions at, those who by conscicntioua necessity have undertaken tlie responsibility.
