POVERTY BAY'S QUEEN.
PROCEDURE OF CORONATION.
Notwithstanding the fact that* tht> weather has made it necessary for tlit Carnival Queen coronation ceremony to he held indoors — m His Majesty's Theatre, the full programme will 'bt gone through, and. the procedure should prove highly 'interesting, 'lhe "crowning" will take place at 3 p.m. toniormw, and the queen (Miss Norinu Loisel) followed by her nine maids ol honor, pages, and, suite, will arrive a few- minutes before that hour and occupy the "throne 1 ' which is being erected, on the stage. The swearing-in of the queen will then take place, the ■oath being administered by his Worship the Mayor (Mr W. G. Sherratt). Mr J. Townlev wiW then crown the .queen. After the 'knighting" of the Mayor, the maids of honor will be presented, and the Lord High Chamberlain (Mr J. W. Bright^ will deliver the "Queen's Speech." "Knighthood" will also vbe conferred upon Mr Bi'ight, who will deliver "Her Majesty's" speeches when the other knighthoods are being conferred. Several of the leading supporters of Miss Loisel and Miss. Fromm will be "knighted," and others will be similarly honored m th 6 evenings. Various humorous titles have been arranged for these knights. With a fanfare of trumpets the herald Mill announce the knighthoods. A haka of welcome will bo given by a. large troupe of Maoris, and the ceremony will conclude with a grand, tableau.
