Amongst the numerous particles disposed of by the Storts jterfcy of "auctioneers" on Saturday night was a copy of the War Ocy, which some one in the crowd, handed- up to be sold. As the result of the sale of buttonholes conducted on Saturday by Mrs Jind Miss Whiteley. assisted by a number of children, the sum of £10 was realised, and the money was credited to the Territorial queen candidate, being earmarked for the Hospital Ship Fund. Mr Loisel, father of the Carnival Queen, has intimated to the committee that he will undertake the whole expense of equipping his daughter in hep coronation robes for the ceremony on Thursday next—a further instance of Mr Loisel's generosity, which is greatly ap.predated by the committee.

In connection with the' sports campaign, the members of the committee wish to express their thanks to Mr W. E. Cederwall (ths chairman), who had entire charge of the organisation- and gave a great deal of time and attention to the work, it being largely, due to hia efforts that the success achieved in the sports campaign was so great. Regarding the £620 raised last Monday by the Carnival Committee on benalf of the Hospital Ship Fund, we are asked to explain that £200 of the amount came from Paddy's Market and Fete of Nations, and £420 came from i the voting in connection with the queen election.
