NEW FILM SUPPLY.
With a view to placing before picture J house patrons the best supply ol fllsns direct from the makers, a movement has been initiated amongst independent exhibitors throughout the Dortiihiori .to establish a Co-operative Film Service! My J. H. Lawrence, . who represents the new company, was m -lsborne to-day, and informed a Herald representative that twenty -four picture houses had joined or-, were joining the movement, apart from 45 other exhibitors who were not actual shareholders. The'- company •has taken over the Clement _vfau_on film supply, comprising several exclusive rights, including the celebrated Chas. Clia.pl m pictures, the producer of which, it is claimed, is the , highest paid artist m the world. An important- feature iir connection with several of theserights is that tlie pictures are published simultaneously m various parts of the world;. For instance, certain Chaplin pictures just arrived m, New Zealand, are only now . being ' exhibited m ±_ngla__d. The company, he said, would be able to command '-the' supply of the- class of films which were popular throughout the Dominion. With regard to topical pictures, particularly respecting .the . war, arrangements haa been made to secure the- best, available. Patrons' of the World's Pictures will shortly have the advantage of the new film* service, as the company has taken shares m the co-operative movement.
