(Per Press Association. 1 AUCKLAND, last night . Advice has been received that, :is a result of thc appeal made by Commis- . sioher Hodder. of thc. Salvation Ainiv. for £20,000 to assist the Army iv England m housing refugees from Belgium and caring for wounded soldiers, the .people of New Zealand have subscribed £11,500. This amount was cabled to London, ami General Bramwell Booth, m acknowledging the gift, says it has removed a heavy burden and placed Now Zealand m the front rank of the Army's helpers.
