THIRTY-FOUR AEROPLANES ENGAGED.
OSTEND STATION BURNED TO GROUND.

AMSTERDAM, Feb. 12. A British airman dropped several bombs at Walcheren, one on the canal, which exploded , without damage. A • British airman also bombed a fort at Antwerp, and killed thirty -five soldiers. The Telegraaf's Sluis correspondent states that it* 'is reported the German military administration has quitted Ostend for Bruges. (Received February 13, 1.25 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 12. The Admiralty states thai thirty-four aeroplanes attacked Bruges, Zeebrugge, and Ostend, with a view to destroying; the submarine base. ' Ostend station was burned to the ground. All the pilots are safe. Two machines were damaged. Flight Commander Samson commanded. (Received February 13, 1.45 p.m.) LONBON. Feb. 12. The Admiralty states that the combined aeroplane and seaplane attack lasted ' twenty-four hours. The railway station at Blankerburghe was damaged, the lines being torn up m many places. Bombs were dropped on a gun position at Middlekirk, also on the' power station and German mine-sweepers. At Zeebrugge the damage is unknown. No submarines were seen. The attackers encountered heavy snow irt their flight. Commander Qrahame-White fell into the sea at N import and a French vessel rescued him. Although the attackers were exposed to heavy gun fire from mitrailleuses only two machines were damaged.
