The failure of the Austrians to descend from the Carpathians is believed to seal the fate of Przemysl. , Three Austrian army corps are demoralised in the mountains south of Przemysl. The cold is intense, and many have been frozen to death. Three other army corps are struggling to escape via the Dukla and neighboring passes.
