Hannan, the Wellington oarsman, has challenged Webb, of Wanganui, to row for the -championship of -the New Zealand on the Wanganui river, for £200 J aside at any time before April 30th. The annual tournament of the Auckland centre of the Dominion Bowling Association was commenced in fine wteather yesterday, and the pennant match attracted an entry of 60 full rinks. The death occurred at Stewart Island on Friday of Professor James Gow Black, aged 79 years.
