GERMAN HOPES IN THE AIR.
(London Times and Sydney Sun Services.*. (Received December 28, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 2?. A correspondent, who has returned from Germany, says {he Germans place their hopes on the air fleet. They rely on the. Zeppelins to cause panic and destruction to English sailors, soldiers, and civilians. This is more or less nonsense and bluff. H a Zeppelin wishes to escape anti-aircraft guns, it 'would have to fly to such a height that afwarahip would appear like a star in the heavens. The damage possible by Zeppelins, therefore, is probably small, and largely a matter of good luck. There is a growing , feeling against keeping the German fleet in strongly fortified harbors, which gives the reason for the East Coast raid.
