Building permits issued by the Borough Council for the past fortnight had a total stated value of £1283. Passengers .carried by the trams during the past fortnight totalled 11,322, and the car mileage was 1567. The revenue totalled £47 3s 6d and expenses £48 7a 9d. Leave of absence has been granted to Mr Ferris, the Borough sanitary inspector, to enable him io sit for examination at Auckland under the Royal Sanitary Institute.
