MR ALLEN AT WAIKOUITI.

j . WAIKOUAITI, last night. Mr Allen addressed a political meeting at Waikouaiti to-night, and was accorded a good hearing by a large audience. He dealt mostly with matters outlined by -him m his address at Milton, but made particular reference to the Marama runs. He said an alteration had certainly, been made m the pastoral leasehold "tenure, but m regard to these runs Mr Massey was not aware tbey were held by absentee owners, and I they should not be allowed to be occu?ied by people living out of the colony, he Government's borrowing policy /was defended, and it was argued that taxa|toin had been reduced. The naval policy I was also dealt with, and the Minister advocated training men locally as against grants to the Home Government.' A hearty vole of thanks to Mr Allen and confidence m the GoveVnment was car : ried unanimously.
