A challenge clay pigeon shooting match •for the Mitford Shield took place at Patutahi on Saturday afternoon between the Gisborne (challengers) and Rcre Gun Clubs. There was an enjoyable competition/resulting irt a win for the Rere Club. The scores were as follows:— Rere: S. G. Glennie 10, D. Bruce 10, H. White 9, H. Stevens 7, A. E. Harris 8. J. Harris ii C. Scott 8, G. Papworth C; total, 65. Gisborne: D. J. Parker 5, B. Lucas 8, A. McAlister 5, G. Porter 10, B. Aislabie 4, J. Beattie 5, W. Hackett C, A, L. Fraser 9; total 52.
