STEAMER NOT A TRAMCAR.

WELLINGTON, this day. At 12.30 this morning- the steamer NgakJuta was entering the port, when she was twice fired upon by the fort. The first shot was a blank, but a shell from, the second crossed the steamer's bows. The capitain stated that m response to the signal he hoisted the proper lights. He protested that a steamer is not a tramcar, and cannot be stopped immediately. ■
