WELLINGTON, this day. Tt is stated that the position of the officer commanding the Wellington miliitary district m succession to Colonel
ft. W. C. Chaytor, who is taking up the office of adjutant-general to the N«>w Zealand forces, will be offered to Major Johnston, an officer of the Imperial Army who is at present on furlough from Tndia.
