There is a better demand for heavy-weight at s|d: North Island is at 4 3-6 d for lightweight. x The lamb market is very firm. There is a better demand for heavyweight on account .of tlie high priced of English mutton. Canterbury lamb, two's, 6|d ; heavy-weights, 6£d ; other than Canterbury, 6^l for light-weight. The beef market is quiet, with rio alteration m prices. Xew Zealand hindquarters 4_d ; forequarters 3_d. Chilled beef is m moderate supply; hindquarters s_d, forequarters 3^d. The butter market is steady. Dullish is quiet at 113s to 115s per cwt, exceptionally choice il6s ; New Zealand, firmer, 107s to 103s ; exceptionally choice 110s • Australian, lODs to 104s ; Siberian, m moderate supply, 98s to 102s ; Irish creamery., slow of «ale, 105s to 108s. The . cheese market is, firm, with an ; upward tendency. The Canadian stock is almost exhausted, and is at 68s to 70s per cwt. The Xew Zealand market, is firmer, with a fair demand ; white 59s 6d to 603, colored 63s to 645. Australian, white 57s to 595, colored 60s to 625. English cheddar, new make, 62s to 68s 4d ; English cheddar loaf, new make, 68s to 725 ; Cheshire, new- make, 60s to 655. The hemp market is rather unsettled on account of the Mexican position. Xew Zealand, good to fair, per ton, £24 10s; fair, £23 10s; June to August shipments, good to fair, £26 15s ; fair, £23 15s (prices nominal). Manilla, fair current, £26 10s ; gillie to August shipments £26 15s (prices nominal). The output from Manila -for .tho week was 29,000 bales. Tlie hops market is steady, holders benvr firm.' There is no change m prices. The wheat market is steady, but the demand is only moderate. The oats market is firmer, and the stock is behur reduced. The cocksfoot market is quiet. '
