EDWARDS-0 ONES.

■', Holy Trinity Chtuxjh this afternoon, ,iv brilliant weather, was the scene of a /wedding of jhuch local interest, the contracting parties being a popular young couple, Mr Melville 6. Edwards, of' Wellington, youngest son of Mr and Mrs j. Edwards, ofGisbome, and Miss Emily Helen Jones, eldest daughter of his Honor Judge and Mrs R. N. Jones, of Gisborne. The ceremony, which was witnessed by a large congregation, was performed by the Revi L. Dawson Thomas. The ■ bride, who was given away by her father, was becomingly attired m a gown of satin charmeuse, trimmed with handmade Honiton lace and orange blossoms, with the usual veil and wreath of orange blossoms, whilst, a handsome shower bouquet completed the' toilet, an interesti- . ing feature being that the veil and wreath were the same as that worn by the bride's mother 1 at her wedding. Miss Kathleen Robb {cousin of the bride), '■ Miss May Wilson, and Misses Alice and Joyce Jones (sisters of the bride) 'were the bridesmaids. -The first two wore dresses of white embroidered. frosted crepe, with pink sashesj and black hats trimmed with roses, whilst the two little maids wore dresses of white embroidered ', muslin, with blue sashes and , white muslin hats, trimmed with forget-me-, nots. All the bridesmaids carried bouquets. Th.c bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mir Wallace Edwards, as best man, whilst Mr Tl A. Jones (the bride's brother) acted as groomsman. The gift of the bride to the bridegroom was a pair of gold sleeve links, and the bridegroom's gifts were a gold necklet and pendant to the bride, and gold .brooches to the bridesmaids. Mrs R. N. Jones, the bride's mother, wore a dress '.of blue channeuee with black and cream ttinlniings, and a black hat with black plumes; Mrs Edwards, the bridegroom's 'mother, wore a tailored costume and a black hat with white plumes. Other -relatives present included aunts of thebride: Mrs Ritchie, of Hastings, who wore a grey satin, dress and black hat with grey plumes; Mrs Blyth of Hastings, saxe blue, and black beaver hat; -•.Mrs Ledger, green shot silk, and black -hat with plumes; Mrs 'it. Robb, blue ; silk voile, and black hat; Mrs F. Lowndes, blue cloth costume, black and white hat to match; and Mrs H. T. Jones; Miss Lucy Paton, of Havelock (cousin) j brown costume, and saxe > blue hat; Miss Robb (cousin.), navy blue costume and hat to match. Mr E. ■N". Sidebottom presided at the organ. The bridal party left the church amidst showers of confetti, and repaired to the residence of 'the bride's parents where a large number of guests were entertained ma marquee erected for ■ the on the spacious lawn. A 'handsome three-tier wedding cake occupied the central position on the table, and m this respect it is also interesting to note that Mr Oatridge, who made the cake, also made that of the bride's mother. The usual felicitous speeches were made, and hearty congratulations were extended to Mr and Mrs Edwards. They were the recipients of a large "number of beautiful presents and several ch"<nrs. The happy couple leave toniyld for their future home at Wellington. The bride's gbing-away dress is a brown tailored costume and . brown 5 hat to match.-
