HOTEL EMPLOYEES.
AGREEMENT AT AUCKLAND
(Per -Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. . Both old and new unions of hotel employees are m complete agreement' witli the Licensed Victuallers' Association. At the Arbitration Court, application was -made for an award, and the request was made that thc present agreement between the new union and the employers bo cancelled. It was explained that the now union would very ttoon go out' of existence, its members merging m the old uiiion. The Uo^t' discussed the technical difficulty of getting;' rid of an agreement which all parties concerned wanted to get rid of. The-* Act, Iris Honor pointed out, did not provide that an award might- h© made to supersede an industrial agreement. It was ultimately arranged .-that .yet another agreement should be entered into cancelling the existing .agreement and agreeing to make an award m terms of the proposals now before the Court. This plan -will be carried^t .m .accordance with the rules of the ;differenjb < organisations concerned .
