The luxury of meat as food is not relinquished when ''once acquired, and higher prices will cause discontent m the industrial cianses. It is hoped that the situation will be eased by ii iprovements to Agriculture and stock-raising, both at Home and abroad. ( There were harrowing stories told m the Hpuse of cruelties to horses and gruesome accounts of horse meat sausages. Several members spoke of their personal knowledge of the shameless Continental trade.
