THE OVERLAND CAR ON A TOUGH JOB. The road from Gisborne to Tolaga is one of the worst stretches m the Dominion. Yet, early last month two Over-; land Cars accomplished the trip m spite of all the obstacles and difficulties of this sandy country. One car Avas the property of Mr George Kirk, driven by Mr Haley, and carrying three other passengers. The second car was Mr Ormond's 2-seater. Gisborne was left at 8.15 m the morning, and by 12.40 p.m. both cars had arrived m Tolaga. The difficulties encountered Included a quicksand, from which the larger car Avas extricated by using its own power against ropes tied to the wheels. Time after time tho Overland Car has been put to the severest tests under the Avorst road conditions that NeAV Zealand can show- and each time this wonderful car comes out triumphant. For the man who wants a car combining dignity, beauty, power and speed, the Overland offers his ideal. Tho Overland is equipped with electric lights, electric self-starter, electric horn, and every luxury that the modern motorist desires.— J. H. ORMOND (Gisborne), A. HATRICK ANp CO. (Wanganul).
