Morgan, assistant mistress ; Miss Mary Campbell,* pupil teacher ; and Miss M. Martin, probationer. . Tlie schedules for last year's examination and the results of standard 6 'examination are forwarded for ; your inspection. ' I have found' it necessary to place one class m the new lobby, and as standard-. 6, is the smallest standard, I 'have put- it there. For the present I think this arrangement will do, and that'the school cam be ' efficiently I carried on till the proposed additions are completed.- We. shall,. ho*wevei', need *a few new desks, seven diial desks pnd one single desk- being urgently required. J should, like to have the side gMe fixed so that no one could .get m unless it 'were unlocked. Tliis could be done by lowering it and nailing -iron on theoutside. Now that *Water< is laid oil inside the lobbies for both boys and girls, I, should like- to see a few drinking mugs placed m them. Some of our doors that v open inside need cabincatches ,to fasten them back. I have had . > t several minor accidents through these' doors slamming. The last clock forwarded by the Board will not go, and is quite useless as it now is." \ -The Education Board adyised that the Department 1 had approved of a grant for the erection of an : addition to the school, and stated that tenders were being invited for the work. Tlie secretary of the Cricket Association wrote, asking if the children could be granted a half-holiday on Friday next, the occasion of the Australian cricket match., "This is the .first .time m the history of our, district that such a world-famous combination ,of 'players has ever honored us'- -with a visit," stated the letter, "and if tite children of your school are. given the opportunity tft seemg ', tlieise players, I ventui*e : to suggest that it will live ip their memory for many a long day."— lt was agreed to leave the matter to the headmaster to arrange.
