DISAPPOINTED BORROWERS.
(Special to Herald.) DUNEDIN, this day. The Loudon money market does not seem to be as easy as it* was when British investors rushed "pell-mell to subscribe five-fold to tho Dominion's latest loan of 4_ millions. It is stated that cabled inquiries were made last week on behalf of a public body who require a loan running into six figures, and that the result was rather disappointing. It was m effect that such a loan would cost close, on £5 per £100,. practically the same as can be obtained m the Dominion. This local body will probably abandon the intention to draw from the London market. Their experience, however, differs from that of another publio body, whose executive have under consideration an offer which is described as excellent. They were early m tho field.
