TOURING CRICKET TEAM.

The secretary of the .Board of Control, replying to Trumper's complaint, said the delay was occasioned by the New Zealand Council. The players applied for permission on December 12, but two months previously the Board had written to the Council, asking the terms and conditions under which the team was going. No definite information was received until January 5 ; after which the various delegates were communicated with. > The decision was made known to the players on January 20, as early as possible.
