J Air Aierriihan, speaking in the Union Assembly in the debate on the Indemnity Bill, said tliat he could condone the Government's action, excepting the perpetual banishment of the Labor leaders without trial. (Received Feb. 13, 8.45 a.m.) CAPETOWN, February 12. Air Alerriman, in the Assembly, said that the deported passengers were enemies of society, but a grave error Avas made in deporting them without trial. They had made heroes of the sorriest lot of failures they had ever seen. The right course was to bring the deported men back and try them. Tho Government had struck two deadly blows at the Empire.. First, they got into a mesa with 7 the Indian Empire. Now they Avere sending nine dangerous agitators to inflame public opinion when Britain was on the verge of civil war. JOHANNESBURG, February 12. The majority of the wives of the deported men are aAVaiting their husbands' instructions. Airs Bain and Airs Poutsma have accepted free passages.
