Stringer, K.C., the newly-appointed President of the Arbitration Court, was a member of the firstr interprovincial team from Canterbury which toured New Zealand m 1876, and represented the province for several years. Mr Kenneth' Watkins, the well-known Auckland artist, who with Mrs Watkins, has been spending, the summer holidays at . Waikaremouna, returned .to Auckland to-day by the s.s. Monowai. During • his visit to the lake Mr Watkins secured a number of sketches.'
