A railway smash occurred on the Northern line between Adamstown and Cardiff. The air brakes failing to act, two goods trains collided. The drivers and firemen jumped and , escaped, But a guard was injured, ;and was sent to the hospital. Thirty trucks of the runaway train are 1 piled one on top of £he other. It is i regarded as the biggest smash which has i ever occurred on the Northern line. \ The damage to rolling stock will run into several thousands.
