G.R.C. SUMMER MEETING. Up to and inclusive of the fourth race £5798 had b6en put through the machine, as against £5099 for the same events last year. The attendance to-day was small, but speculation was liberal. A. R*id, the rider of Bodenham m the Te Hapara, Hack Handicap yesterday, was cautioned by the stipendiary steward for crossing Faith' when running round the back of the course. From an even start, Hima went to the front, and when the back of the course was reached he was joined by Mistie, Caher Davon, and Patti ; then San Diego, Glouria, and Chortle iri that order. The horses were well bunched together, Mistie being slightly m the lead. There was a great race over the last furlong. Caher Davon dashed up on the outside, and Glouria "put m a fast run. Mistie and 'Jaher Davon .raced along on apparently even terms, and the finish was almost a dead heat, ■Mr Williams' geldiiyj gaining the verdict by inches. Glouria finished two lengths 'behind Mistie, leading Hima by a neck. Chortle was fifth, Patti next, and San Tnego last. Time, 1.29 3-5, GISBOIiNE RACING CLUB HANDICAP, of 200- soys; second horse to receive 30 soys, and third horse 10 soys out of stake. One mile and a 1 distance. ' . Mr A. B.
