According to a fairly well informed press report, President Wilson feels that the United States is now reaching the gravest stage regarding Mexico, m view of the serious differences between the United States and Britain over the tolls question, tho dispute with Japan over the- anti-alien \ question, with Columbia over the Panama secession, and with Russia over the Jewish question. V The press points out that the United - States is now facing a period of splendid isolation, as Britain formerly did. Senators conferring with President Wilson admit that if Japan is likely at any time to go to war with the United States over the Californian difficulty it will most probably do .so when the [ United States is embroiled with Meotico and is seriously at loggerheads with th rest of the s civilised world.
