TARINCA FIRE.
CHARGE OF MURDER. (Press Assn.—By Telegraph— Copyright.) BRISBANE, January 28. Mrs Nightingale (not Martindale) was remanded on a charge of murdering the three victims whose deaths were caused by fire at the Taringa Salvation Army Girls' Home. She protested her innocence, and called the arresting constable a liar for saying she told him something. She declared that she escaped from the fire by sliding down a rail. She declaimed against the Salvation Army and said she would rather do six months' imprisonment than go to^ an Army Home, as it was worse than prison. She added that if they would get half a dozen rat traps and killed some rats they would be doing some good. The girl Denzer. who was burned to death, escaped safely from the fire' but dashed back to her bedroom to recover some property, faaid was overcome by the flames. Miss Wilson had an arm broken, and> was badly injured about the face when heroically assisting m rescue work.
