BRITANNIA ASCENDS 1000 FEET.

AUCKLAND, this day. Lieutenant Hammond made a successful flight of the aeroplane Britannia last evening, accompanied by Miss Esmee McLellan, a visitor, who accepted Lieut. Hammond's invitation on the spur of the moment. The aeroplane ascended about 1000 feet. The flight was highly successful.
