STABLES DESTROYED.
RACEHORSES RESCUED. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. The. stable of E. Cutts, trainer for Sir (led. Clifford, Avas completely destroyed' by fne early this evening. The fire broke out shortly before 8 p.m., and -is sapposed to have been caused through wax matches being dropped m the straw m the loft above the stables. The flames spread Avith rapidity, and no Avater being available, the Av'hole building AA*as soon a. mass of ruins. About 25 horses Avere m thc stables at the time, but all Avere got out unscathed from their boxes and placed m a paddock. Among the horses Avere Autuannas, Antagonist, Glenfinnan, -Night\A'atch, and Heatherbrae. . -
