AN OVERLAND CAR IN SICILY. The wild and mountainous island of Sicily offers such conditions m the way of steep grades, difficult corners and wretched roads as to present one of the most strenuous tests m the world to the car that attempts the conquest. The famous Targa Florio Cup race, over 820 miles of the mountainous roads of Sicily, is one of the severest trials to which a car may be put. This race was run on May 13th thts year, and the only American car to finish was the Overland. Famous European machines were defeated by the swift and sure Overland, so that the supremacy of the latter car on rough roads and difficult country is established. New Zealand conditions arc such as call for a car of exactly the Overland's qualifications m the matter of speed, power, strength, and reliability.
