The New Zealand cricketers' second match against Northern Districts, which on this occasion was played at Olen Innes, resulted m another easy victory for the visitors. Continuing their first innings, the New Zealandfrs totalled 232, Patrick (who was not out yesterday) giving a capital exhibition. Their opponents found the bowling of Sandman and Sneddon too good. The latter was especially deadly, securing the remarkable average of 3 for 1. They were disposed of for 100, New Zealand thus winning by an innings and 40. Following aro. the scores:— Hemus 24, Sneddon 12, Tuckwell 16, Hlckmott 37. Reese 40, Sandman 0, Somervell 0, ; Patrick 57, Carlton 'l2, Bennett 15, Tattersall (not out) 4; sundries 10. In the Northerners' second innings Sandman took six for 40, Sneddon three for t. Carlton none for 9, Reese one for 10. and Bennett none for 16. The visitors were splendidly entertained by tho local men. CHRISTCHUROH, this day. The cricket match ' for the HeathcoteWilliams Shield between the Auckland Grammar School and the Boys' High School commenced yesterday. Auckland won the toss, and sent their opponents m to bat on a sodden wicket, which was all against the batsmen, (ihristchureh scored 122 and Aucklahd 71 fdr 7 wickets.
