WEST COASTERS' JUBILEE.
(Por Press Association.) ' HOKITIKA, this day. I A meeting of the Westland Jubilee Celebration General Committee was held last night, when "there was a representative gathering. A letter was received from the secretary of the West Coasters' Association, Wellington, suggesting that' m view of tho strike the function be postponed. The question was fully dis- • cussed, and it was unanimously decided ; to adhere to the original programme, which is to commence on January 7th, I a., the arrangements were so well ad-j vanced. It was reported that a large! number of people from all parts of the Dominion had written, intimating their intention to. be present, and m view of the fact that' they -had mado their arrangements accordingly it was deemed unwise to depart from what had been decided on. An elaborate programme of entertainment lias been arranged, and the various branches and amusements which aro to be provided are calculated to add considerably to the enjoyment of visitors. Special facilities for visiting lakes Kaneri, Mahinapua, and other scenic resorts are included m the attractions, and the celebrations generally should mark an important epoch m the history of Westland. ■
