THE HARBOR LOAN.
TO-MORROW'S POLL.
The poll of ratepayers in connection with the Harbor Board's proposal to raise £200,000 for redemption of the balance of the 1885 loan, reduction of overdraft, and harbof 'imprdvements will be held to-morrow throughput -the harbor district, comprising Cook and Waikohu Counties^ and the BoroUgh. The poll, which js being conducted by Mr H. M. Porter, returning officer, will beheld between the hourg of & a.m. and 6 p.m. The polling booths in town are as-lpl-dows :— Schoolhouse, Mangapapa; schoolhouse, Te Hapara; Millers auction -mart, Lowe street (two booths). In regard to the voting, we have been requested to- state that the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, states: '"In the case of husband or wife any qualification possessed by either of them shall be deemed to be possessed by each of them." This, it is pointed out, applies only to the Borough, where the wife or husband of. the ratepayer, as the -case !ha_y be, may exercise a vote as well as the r^tepaser, provided the name -has been blacetf on.the roll. , ...•-.• _ There are 4699 nairiesV ori the harfeor district roll, of which 2485 are in the Borough. .'
