The competitions' , were very well patronised . tuts evening, and a number of interestirig sections were decided,''*including the church ; choir contest of three tests. The Feilding 'Methodist won. 'by 10 points. The only other competitor /was the Grafton Road ' Methodist (Auckland). Results: — Piano solo (under 21), for those who have not won first prize at a previous competition; test, Beethoven's Sonata in.'D minor.— G wen Shetiherd (Kilbirnie, 126, 1; Nellie Bepnett, , 123; 2. Humorous recital, (girls under 16), own seledtion.— Zita Chapman (Hiitt). 116, il; Sylvia Udy (Petone), 112, 2; riazel Jeffery, 109, 3. Church choir contest, three tests: (a) 'The Sun Shall be no More" (Woodward); (b) own selection, secular; (c) hymn, "Abide with Me").— Feilding: (a) 130,' (b) 148, (c) 146; total, 433.
