SYLVIA PANKHURST'S TRAVELS.
(Received Sept. 2, 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, September 1. It is believed that Miss Sylvia Pank hurst has gone to Denmark.
LONDON, July 28. Mrs Emmelino Pankhurst, the militant "suffragist leader, made a dramatic appearance this afternoon on the stage of the music hall, where the militants hold their weekly meetings. She was seated m 'an invalid chair and wrapped m shawls. She looked wan and ill and several nurses were m attendance. The appearance of the militant leader was the signal for a great display of enthusiasm. Her stay was very brief, and she was afterwards carried back to the taxicab, m which she had arrived, without being molested by the police. Mrs Pankhurst addressed a few words to the meeting, assuring her audience that victory for tbe cause was approaching. She then put her prison license up to auction. Bids were forthcoming from ail ,pasts of the house, and it was finally knocked down for £100. Miss 'Annie Kenney was -rearrested outside the hall after a desperate struggle. Mounted police had been .summoned to disperse tho suffragette sympathisers who fiercely attacked the police. NEW YORK, July 18. In letters received yesterday by friends of Mrs O. H. P. Belmont it became known that Christabel Pankhurst ' has been enjoying Mrs Belmont's hospitality during Ju*ly at the chateau Mrs Belmont has leased at Deauville> France. Miss Pankhurst, /from an office fitted up m the old castle, has been writing editorials and directing the official paper of the English suffragettes. Mrs Belmont's friends think this indicates her conversion to militarism.
