LONDON, August 27. The Government believes that the suffragettes* campaign of violence is at its last grasp, owing to the successful operation of the Oat and Mouse Act. The Women's Social and Political' Union is m a bad way financially, and there are indications that tho militants are making their land stand. They have already ceased agitating for the vote, and are now merely trying to secure the repeal of the legislation that has done so much to bring about their disorganisation. As Parliament, is m recess, .they have no chance of accomplishing this object for a while. It is estimated that the. militant leaders now number no more than 10.
