CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The- Grand National meeting was concluded m cold weather. The course was heavy after a might's heavy rain, and litfhb showers fell before the first race. Tha attendance is very fair. Results*: —
llunfc Club Steeplechase: Fritz 1, Captain Jack 2, Major Webb 3. All started. Miijor Webb, Kingswa-y, . and Rufus were prominent m the early stages. Captain Jack and Fritz were some distance back. Entering the straight Fritz came with a great run, cut down the leaders., and won by four lengths. Kingswav ran off. * *
Haathcote Handicap: RoyaLArms 1, Ceylon 2, Diavolo 3. All started. Royal Arms and Diavolo were m charge when >ni«ring the straight. The former drew rv\\ at the distance, and lasted long •Mioujjh to beat the fast-finislhing Ceylon l»v half a head. Diavolo was three lereths awny third. Tim© 1.33 4-5.
