NEXT YEAR'S CAMPS.

(Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., this day. There will be an advance in territorial training next year. The Defence Department has decided to hold four main camps, two in the North Island and two in the South Island, comprising all arms. It is estimated that 6000 men will be under canvas in the Wellington camp. Three sites are under consideration — Himitiangi (near Foxton), Takapau (Hawke's Bay), and Turakina. A feature of next year's camps will be an inspection by General Sir lan Hamilton, commanding the overseas forces.
