FIGHT WITH CHINESE PIRATES.
ENCOUNTER ON A STEAMER, HONG KONG, June 11. A French steamer engaged m the West River service, was attacked by Chinese pirates, with whoni a desperate fight ensued. One of the passengers was killed, and the engineer and several of the crew were wounded. The robbers seized all the valuables oii which they could lay their hands, and. got away with about £6000.. , Piracy ia reported to be increasing m the south.
