' ; STATE OF THE SEA. .Cape Palliser Reported a .rough sea this morning, Kaipara considerable sea; mod-' crate seas at Cape Maria, New Plymouth, Cape Campbell, Farewell Spit, Greymouth and Oamaru, and slight swell at Tiritiri; smooth elsewhere. WEATHER FORECAST. The report issued last night stated:— "Present Indications are' for unsettled and' cloudy weather, and rain is probable generally; strong and squally westerly winds, especially m Cook and Foveaux' Straits. The barotiteter is unsteady, rising temporarily m the south, but falling everywhere again shortly." To-day's forecast states: "Westerly moderate to strong. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy, weather, with increasing haze and cloudiness, with change rollowing; barometer falling. Tides good; s6a moderate." . '
