BARMAIDS FINED
(Per Press Association.) j AUCKLAND, last night. , The serving of Norman j. Walsh, 17 i years of age, with liquor, resulted m two barmaids named' respectively Marion Abbott (Thames Hotel) and Millie Hunter (Star Hote,l) being fined £2 each and costs. I It was contended m each case that t Walsh appeared to b© more, than 21 years of age. Cases against the • respective licensees were dismissed, Mr E. 0. Cutten, S.M., holding that as the licensee ha-d 7iot <lek-gntecl authority to anyone else and as the sale was against his express instructions and without his knowledge thew was no liability.
