TURKISH ASSASSINS.
SIEGE AND CAPTURE
(Press Assn.—By Telegraph— Copyright.) CONSTANTINOPLE, June 15. Gendarmes forced their way through tho roof of a house of a British subject at Pera, and Aii Bey, Kazim Effendi, and Cheoki surrendered. It is believed that all the assassins have been captured. A detachment of infantry and cavalry surrounded the block of buildings, while soldiers, gendarmes, and firemen climbed on to adjacent roofs. The assassins refused to surrender, and fired on the troops with revolvers. The fusillade lasted an hour, nntil the back stairs were captured. None of the assassins were wounded. Aii Bey is a fire brigade lieutenant, and Kazim Effendi is a Circassian capI tain. Several Mauser rifles and pistols were found m the house. The arrests total 150. Talaat Bey and Enver Bey fear murder, and elaborate precautions are being taken to ensure their safety. {Received June 16. 10.15 a.m.) Lieutenant Hilmi, who was shot while attempting an arrest m connection with the assassination of Shevket Pasha, has succumbed. Samuel Effendi declares that Topal Tewfik confessed himself to be the principal assassin, adding 'that his bullets killed Shevket Pasha. (Received. June 16. 9.40 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, June 15. Those arrested on suspicion of being implicated m the assassination of Shev- 1 ket Pasha include Bey, ex-Minister of the Interior ; Hamid Effendi, President of the Court of Justice ; Thera Ismal Hakai Pasha, Opposition leader. Reuter reports that the British Minister protested to the Porte against the violation of a Britisher's domicile at Pera. He describes it as an infraction of treaties, inasmuch as Consular assistance was not obtained. (Received June 16, 1.45 p.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, June 15. Munib Bey and Kiamil Pasha's son have been arrested.
