HOSPITAL TO BE OPE«NED BY CABLE.

The Central News learns officially that Queen Mary has consented to perfqrm the opening ceremony of a new hospital nt Weston, Ontario, early m Jun© next. Her Majesty will riot visit Canada for the -purpose, '» but at Buckingham Palace will press a button to close the circuit of an electric current, thus setting m motion the machinery by which the doors of the new institution will be opened. The hospital, which is to bear her .Majesty's name, has been erected by the National Sanatorium Association for the accommodation of children suffering from tuberculosis.
King Edward, during the last year of his reign, opened a new University at Montreal from the residence of th© late Mr W. James m Sussex by means similar to those which arc to bo employed m June, and the Duke of Connaught a few years ago electrically unveiled the statue placed m St. James's Park to the memory of the Engineers who fell m South Africa whilst himself attending a service at St. Paul's Cathedral. v
