The North German Gazette, after eulogising Sir Edward Grey's efforts, states that . the signing of peace is a proof of the Powers' .co-operation, and has resulted in a desirable provisional issue and is also a. stimulus to further joint . action. ,

The paper is hopeful that the Allies will amicably: settle their own disputes.
