KING'S BIRTHDAY.

A public holiday will be observed m town to-morroW m commemoration of the Sovereign's birthday. The chief feature of the day will be the military parade. In addition to the territorial forces, who will parade at the Garrison Hall at 9 a.m., an invitation has been extended to local" reserve, unattached and retired officers' to participate. The Mayor and Councillors will alio be present. The troops will march' to the post office, and thence to the sajuting ground m Tucker's paddock, where there will be the usual salute and march past, after which the Mayor (Mr J.* R..
